The Opening

The Qur'an teaches in order to make humans are intelligent and knowledgeable, so that something that believeble does not mean commonly acceptable or believable by culture, but it can also be proven with logic and experience.

In this world many readers of the Qur'an even memorize the Qur'an. But the message to participate in preserving the environment does not seem massive, in fact there is environmental degradation everywhere, even in countries with more adherents of religions having the holy Qur'an.

Al Faatihah is the first Surah in the Qur'an. Al Faatihah means opening or introduction. Al Faatihah has the same word root with Al Fath which means victory. So, it can be concluded that the key to victory that can be obtained in the Qur'an is the Surah al-Fatihah. This letter also becomes the stipulation for every raka'ah in prayer of shari'ah. In one day and night, a muslim who runs the Islamic shari'ah read this surah at least 17 times, because there are 17 rak'ahs in the number of prayers five times. Al Faatihaah is seven verses that are read repeatedly, at least 17 times a day by billions of people. But ...

Why is the relationship between humans and the natural environment on earth getting worse and worse? Not only the Qur'an, other holy books also carry important messages about the need for a harmonious relationship between humans and surrounding nature/universe as a human environment. Religious humans and people with the scriptures have been caught up in so many rituals and have not had enough time to explore the deep meaning of the holy books. Rituals that even make them increasingly contribute to the exploitation of nature.

Allah, God, the Existence, Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa - or whatever you call Him, who has the power to control and sustain for nature and universe - does present a superficial lesson for those who trade with Him, for those who only expect reward in return as the profit in life after death, the more rituals the more comfortable his life will be in the hereafter. So they competing to build a magnificent place of worship, reproducing sacrificial animals, one hajj worship is not enough, they want to do it again and again. Umrah is a selling item for travel agencies that sell like sweet peas. Something similar happened in the environment of followers of other religions. Even religious holidays cause inflation. How not, humans are greedier, chasing for money. Life is increasingly preoccupied with economic "productivity", even though environmental degradation is the sure impact.

Directly and indirectly, there is an unwritten concencus is formed that those who are rich in money, able to worship, perform more large rituals and give more alms/tithe, get a guarantee of heaven in the hereafter more convincing. Although leaving this mortal world with a very high carbon footprint.

This is a dogma that has been passed down through collective unconscious.

But He gives riddles to those who truly love Him. That the scriptures are different from the books written from the minds of educated humans. That the scriptures are not subject to copyright, but their contents, the truth content is maintained throughout the ages because it is arranged in a paradoxical and metaphorical language, and is merely universal truth. The holy book, in this case the Qur'an, is a miracle and a treasure of His gift, which was revealed through the highest consciousness of His Messenger, Muhammad bin Abdullah.

The true truth that the Qur'an started to exist long before the birth of the apostle. The true Qur'an has existed since the existence of the first man, because the Qur'an itself is the human Self and the Nature/Universe. This is why, the first commandment that came down through the supreme awareness of Muhammad (the one cannot read and write) was iqra ', the command to read Self and Nature, the command to learn by exploring our Self and observing natural phenomena. So, understanding the essence of the scriptures is not a free gift, nor is it by buying of translated books or paying a famous preacher. Understanding the essence of the scriptures is Self guidance that is taken seriously, by using all the Self potential : the senses, the mind and conscience, through life experiences.

Back to Surah Al-Fatihah, how to understand its contents so that the function of the scriptures as a manual of human beings can work well? If the Qur'an is a guide for every human (hudallinnaas) and medicine for every human (syifaa'ulinnaas), then every word in its verses should be reflected on the reading against the human Self which is a miniature of the universe. Therefore, try to understand the seven verses of Surah al-Fatihah reflectively on yourself as the manual of the Self, as a guide for the use and maintenance of the Self in relation to the surrounding Nature or the Universe.

First Verse:

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

Language translation: In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Reflective understanding:
With/together the (main) quality of God, the Rahmaan (nature of responsibility) and the Rahiim (nature of belonging that which nourishes, as does the mother's womb).

Second Verse:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَۙ

Language translation: Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds.

Reflective understanding:
By carrying out concrete actions (hamdu) for / because of Allah, preserver/sustainer of the nature and the universe.

Third Verse:

الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِۙ

Language translation: Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Reflective understanding:
(actions to preserve nature are carried out) by reviving the Rahmaan (the nature of responsibility) and the Rahiim (the nature of belonging).

Four Verse:

مٰلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِۗ

Language translation: Master of the Day of Judgement

Reflective understanding:
Who has the kingdom (mulku), who guards "the gates of hell" (malik = mouth = hujjah/speech/action), determination of the universal truth / the universal system.

Fifth Verse

اِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَاِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِيْنُۗ

Language translation: Thee do we worship; and Thine aid we seek.

Reflective understanding:
To God with His main qualities (Rahman ~ Rahim), we (all aspects of Self) follow/emulate; So that we (all aspects of Self) have the right to be integrated (by synchronizing the function of physical organs and mental aspects).

Sixth Verse:

 اِهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيْمَ

Language translation: Show us the straight way.

Reflective understanding:
Self-Exploration to identify Sirath al Mustaqim = Upright Arrangement, i.e.
The central nervous system (central nervous system) includes the brain (Latin: 'ensephalon') and spinal cord (Latin: 'spinal cord').

The upright arrangement, is the posture of the human body that is upright when moving, namely by walking.

Seventh Verse:

 صِرَاطَ الَّذِيْنَ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ ەۙ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوْبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّاۤلِّيْنَ

Language translation: The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

Reflective understanding:

If you follow the human nature that moves by walking with an upright posture, you can get the favors in the forms of health, strength, maintaining the quality of the air and the environment, saving energy/natural resources, etc.

Not as Maghduub,
Maghduub = metaphor of coolies/mechanical human who bows and serves the capitalism economic system (exploitation of nature and human resources)

Nor as Dhalliin.
Dhalliin = reptile animals (moving/walking by attaching the stomach to the ground)
= metaphor of capitalists who exploit life for the sake of multiplying money capital with "flowering interest".

postscript:
Consuming and use animal products, will make humans tend to be (metaphors) mammals or reptiles.

CONCLUSION

The key to victory for humans to live sustainably is to maintain a harmonious relationship with their environment. The way to do this is by optimizing the function of the upright arrangement, "Sirath al Mustaqim", which is moving with the legs, human nature is as a pedestrian.
